What a new patient visit at Life in Motion actually looks like
Most chiropractic first visits follow the same script: a quick history, a few standard tests, an adjustment, and a care plan handed to you at checkout. That’s not how Dr. Dockery works.
Your first visit begins with a genuine conversation about your history — not a checkbox form. Dr. Dockery listens to understand the pattern of your symptoms, not just the location of your pain. From there, he conducts a comprehensive structural and neurological exam — including postural analysis, orthopedic testing, range of motion assessment, and digital X-rays when indicated — before making any recommendation.
By the end of your first visit, you’ll know exactly what Dr. Dockery found, what’s causing your pain, what the treatment plan looks like, and what you can realistically expect. See the full first visit walkthrough →
DNS-Trained Movement Assessment
Dr. Dockery’s training in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) means your assessment goes beyond where it hurts — identifying the movement patterns and stability deficits that are generating your pain.
Measurable Goals — Not Open-Ended Care
Every treatment plan includes clear, objective milestones so you can see your progress. You’ll never feel like you’re on a treadmill of indefinite visits with no defined endpoint.
Take-Home Rehab — Progress Between Visits
Every patient receives customized home exercises demonstrated in-office and accessible anytime through the Rehab Exercise Library. Progress happens between visits, not only during them.
Here’s exactly what happens when you walk in
No uncertainty. No wondering what comes next. Here’s what your new patient visit looks like from start to finish.
Intake & History
A thorough conversation about your symptoms, history, prior treatments, and goals. Dr. Dockery listens before he assesses — and asks the questions that reveal the pattern behind your pain.
Comprehensive Structural Exam
Postural analysis, orthopedic and neurological testing, range of motion assessment, and on-site digital X-rays when clinically indicated — all completed at your first visit, no referral needed.
Clear Diagnosis & Report of Findings
Dr. Dockery explains exactly what he found in plain language — what’s causing your pain, what structures are involved, and what treatment will address it. You leave your first visit informed.
First Treatment — Same Visit
If clinically appropriate, treatment begins at your first appointment. No second visit required before care starts. Exam and first treatment are included together.
Personalized Care Plan
A treatment plan built around your specific findings — with clear goals, a realistic timeline, and take-home exercises so progress continues between visits.
Ongoing Progress Tracking
Objective re-assessments at regular intervals keep the plan accurate and accountable. You’ll always know where you stand and what’s left to achieve.
Most major insurance plans accepted
Life in Motion Chiropractic accepts most major insurance plans — including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and many others. We verify your chiropractic benefits before your first visit so there are no billing surprises.
